If your customers require GIS and/or remote data acquisition in the software
that you develop, please checkout Polaris.

Polaris is a system that operates as an XML web service and can relay remote
data over the Internet to a central control station. You can also track
multipe objects simultaneously in real-time on a geographical map using
applications like MapPoint and OziExplorer. It supports storing data in
multiple languages and was designed for software and hardware developers who
need to create custom solutions based on open architectures. Polaris is
hardware independent allowing you to interface it into any hardware that
your system requires.

Polaris can be used in:

* tracking vehicles, equipment, humans, animals, etc.
* monitoring data at remote sites: temperature, voltages, fluid levels, etc.

You can read more about Polaris at www.closerworlds.com
